Nassau Overdose Death Leads To Arrest Of NYC Trio For Drugs: Police – Patch

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Nassau County police say the investigation into a fatal overdose led to the arrest of three men from New York City on drug charges early Monday morning.
According to police, detectives were investigating a fatal drug overdose that occurred on Oct. 28 in Massapequa. The investigation led them to a home on Melrose Avenue in Massapequa.
At 12:40 a.m. on Oct. 31, police say a 2019 Maserati with Virginia license plates pulled up in front of the house with three people inside. As detectives approached the car, police say they saw nearly three dozen glassine envelopes behind the passenger seat containing what is believed to be heroin.
Police arrested Dylan J. Stanley, 19, of Brooklyn; Kevin T. Mack, 31, of South Ozone Park; and Kashawn J. Mason, 20, of Brooklyn. All three were arrested without incident. The car was impounded by police.
All three were each charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police say Stanley had 15 glassine envelopes on him, and is charged with an additional count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Stanley had been arrested last year and convicted on June 20, 2022 for possessing a loaded gun, but has not yet been sentenced.
All three were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 31. Mack and Mason were both released without bail. Court information was not available for Stanley.
