On April 7, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Deputies working the A-District conducted a stop for a traffic violation near the 1900 block of Colington Road. During the stop, the Deputies checks showed that the passenger had outstanding warrants. An amount of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Karena Lashea Harris, 31, of Newport News, VA, was charged with (F) Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, (M) Possession of Marijuana, (M) Possessions of Drug and Marijuana Paraphernalia and (M) Driving while license revoked. Harris is still in custody on a $8,000 secured bond.
Kla Che Jordan, 38, Portsmouth, VA, was charged with (F) Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, (M) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and (M) FTA Warrants for Speeding and DWLR. Jordan is still in custody on a $7,000 secured bond.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting will be conducted by the Dare County Tourism Board and Dare County on the PARTF grant application for the boardwalk at the Soundside Event Site (located in Nags Head) on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Sarah Owens Welcome Center on Roanoke Island, One Visitors Center Circle, Manteo, North Carolina 27954.
