WOODSTOCK — Jesse James Foht, 38, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is charged with multiple felony-level crimes, including one count of possession of stolen property and one count of fifth-degree drug possession. Foht is also charged with a firearm violation for reportedly possessing ammunition after being convicted of a violent crime.
On March 17, law enforcement from the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on an RV parked in Woodstock. During the initial search of the RV, one law enforcement officer opened a drawer in the bedroom of the RV and located a pen tube with crystalline residue inside of it, according to the report. The pen tube field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Law enforcement also observed a shotgun shell in the living room area of the RV. The resident of the RV was identified as Jesse James Foht, who had spoken with law enforcement earlier and claimed ownership of the RV.
A signed narcotic search warrant was obtained, and during the search, a tote of electronics from EZ-Steer system — including the wiring harness, monitor and motor valued at over $20,000, which was reported to be stolen — was located. In addition, officers reportedly discovered a box of blazer .25 auto ammunition containing 37 rounds; five 12-gauge shotgun shells; a car battery made into a false hiding container; two spoons with white crystal substance, a .45 caliber round, multiple zip baggies and a cut tube; and mailings and personal belongings of Foht.
Foht was previously convicted of two counts of domestic abuse, making him ineligible to possess a firearm or ammunition.
