Illegal drugs, weapon seized in end-of-March directed patrol – WEEK

PEORIA (WEEK) – 10 arrests were made along with illegal drugs, paraphernalia and a weapon seized in the March 31st Peoria Police directed patrol.
According to a release from Police Chief Eric Echevarria, the below summarizes the results of Thursday’s efforts:
Echevarria also says there were two ShotSpotter alerts during this time – one in the 400 block of West McClure and one in the 700 block of East Corrington.
“I am proud of the job the men and women of this department are doing to rid our streets of violent offenders,” he said. “During each of these directed patrols, they have placed their lives on the line to make sure, illegal guns, drugs and criminals are off the streets of our great city. These dedicated officers are making a positive difference here when it comes to fighting crime.”
34 traffic stops were also conducted, resulting in several citations and numerous warnings. 14 tickets were issued as well as three vehicles impounded, one parking ticket issued and one abandoned vehicle was towed.
