Springfield Crime Blotter: Assault, Theft, Drugs, Vandalism, More – Patch
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between March 14 and March 21.

March 14 at 9:33 a.m.
Two catalytic converters were stolen from two work vehicles at a business on the 600 block of South Chester Road.
March 15 at 11:22 a.m.
A driver for the Nova Care business, 600 block of South Chester Road, reported sometime overnight someone smashed the rear window to the work van as it was parked in the lot.
March 16 at 10:36 p.m.
A patron at the LA Fitness, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, reported that someone stole her personal belongings from a locker as she exercised.
March 18 at 11:16 a.m.
Officers were called to the Church Road Park to check on a male subject who was laying on a picnic table. They located an intoxicated 31-year-old man from Folsom. The male was taken into custody and later turned over to family. He will be charged with Public Drunkenness.
March 18 at 11:45 a.m.
Officers responded to the Giant Store, 900 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a male who had just stolen about $400 worth of allergy medicine and fled the area on foot. Officers observed the male in the area of the 800 block. They were able to stop the suspect on Greenbriar Lane nearby. The merchandise was recovered, and the male was taken into custody and held for processing. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
March 19 at 5:41 p.m.
Macy’s Security at the mall reported they stopped a male subject after watching him steal over $850 worth of clothing from the store. Tauheed Bynum, 30, of Philadelphia was taken into custody and found to have a quantity of illegal narcotics in his possession. Bynum was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment. He was later transported to Delaware County Prison.
March 19 at 11:33 p.m.
Officers observed an 18-year-old female from Eddystone intoxicated on the 100 block of Saxer Avenue. She was taken into custody and brought to headquarters where she was charged with UAD and turned over to family.
March 20 at 3:24 p.m.
Officers were called to the area of Church Road and Maple Street to investigate a complaint of a shooting. A victim reported that as she drove her vehicle, she was confronted by a male who jumped out in traffic and struck her vehicle was his hands. The victim reported the male then fired a gunshot, which struck her vehicle in the rear bumper. Officers found a male fitting the description given by the victim on the 200 block Maple Street. Douglas Ferguson, 28, of Springfield was taken into custody. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Firearms offenses and other crimes and held for arraignment.
March 21 at 7:10 p.m.
Officers went to the Urban Air business, 1200 block of East Woodland Avenue, for a fight incident. Upon arrival a group who had instigated the fight had left the area. Employees reported the group was slow to leave at closing time and assaulted employees because they were unhappy with having to leave the business at closing time. The group was reportedly there to celebrate a birthday for a 6-year-old. Det. Nutley is investigating.
