Franklin man gets 20+ years for escape, drugs, being a felon with firearm – Local News Digital

FRANKLIN, Ind. –   Caleb A. Hoovler, 35, of Franklin, was convicted Monday of several felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from two different cases and received a total of 20.5 years in prison.
The first charge was for Escape which resulted from cutting off a home detention bracelet and fleeing his residence while out on bond. His sentence was 2.5 years. 
The second offense was committed as a fugitive. Hoovler was caught with two pistols, a sawed-off shotgun, numerous drugs including heroin, mushrooms, and ketamine, plus other drug-related items. He was charged with possession of a firearm as a serious violent felon, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His sentence was enhanced with a Habitual Offender charge. He received 18-years in prison, consecutive to his escape conviction. 
Prosecutor Joe Villanueva said, “We are grateful for the lengthy sentence imposed in this case and are glad that the citizens of Johnson County won’t be endangered by this serial criminal for a long time.”
