A third arrest has been made in connection with the investigation related to the shooting in which Nigel A. Lee allegedly shot and seriously wounded Adam Butler outside Mark Baskin’s mobile home at 94 Vilas Drive in Porter Township on Feb. 4, according to state police.
Following the early-afternoon shooting and quick apprehension of Lee, 38, of Mill Hall, near the scene, police executed a search warrant at Baskin’s home that resulted in the discovery and seizure of a large amount of marijuana.
While Lee remains behind bars on attempted-homicide related charges and Baskin — who was arrested days later on a felony firearm charge — is free on bail, police arrested Baskin’s roommate, Justin Michael Carson, 32, on Thursday.
Carson has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In Carson’s bedroom, police discovered 1.4 pounds of marijuana that “was labeled with seven different names and located in separate baggies. There also was a jar that contained marijuana,” according to an affidavit.
There also was 127 “paper tabs” of LSD and .2 ounces of crystal methamphetamines, police said.
Investigators said that before the shooting took place, Lee, Butler, Baskin and two other individuals were all supposedly engaged in using illegal drugs earlier in the day, and in some instances, they had been taking drugs randomly for three days.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle, Carson was released on $75,000 bail.
