Southland crime: Police cracking down on illegal gun possession, and more – Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from police reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
SPEEDING: Rencia Rolling, 23, of Lansing, was cited for aggravated speeding, improper passing, improper lane usage and failure to signal Feb. 16 at South Parker and West Seminole Trail, police said.
SPEEDING: James Boulos, 29, of the 15500 block of Willow Court, Homer Glen, was cited for aggravated speeding Feb. 25 at Parker and Shoshoni, police said.
SPEEDING: Gary Bernal, 58, of the 8400 block of 82nd Court, Hickory Hills, was arrested and accused of aggravated speeding and no insurance Feb. 26 at South Bell and West Meadowview Lane, police said.
STOLEN TRAILER: Police said someone stole a 2015 semitrailer that contained 11 containers of scrap aluminum in the 13400 block of West 159th Street Feb. 27.
WEAPON ARREST: Evin Howard, 18, of the 3200 block of Holden Circle, Matteson, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of weapon, aggravated fleeing and eluding police, possession of a controlled substance and improper lane usage after a Feb. 19 stop in the 9900 block of 143rd Street, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Dennis Weekly, 55, of the 8900 block of East End Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing merchandise from Macy’s in Orland Square Mall Feb. 21, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Danielle White, 25, of the 15100 block of 92nd Avenue, Phoenix, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after police discovered a loaded handgun in her car Feb. 23 in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall, police said. White does not have a concealed carry license, according to a police report.
WEAPON ARREST: Martice Smith, 28, of Chicago, was arrested and accused of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, resisting a peace officer and illegal possession of marijuana Feb. 23 on Orland Square Drive, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Paris Easy, 25, of the 100 block of 155th Street, Harvey, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after being questioned by police in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall on Feb. 24, police said.
WEAPONS ARREST: Dazion Dupree, 24, of the 14200 block of University Avenue, Dolton, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon after police discovered two handguns in his car during a Feb. 25 stop on 94th Avenue, police said. James Davis Jr., 27, of the 1200 block of Millard Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a silencer.
DUI ARREST: Robert Capo, 38, of the 9800 block of Cordoba Court, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, speeding 15-20 mph above the speed limit, illegal transportation of alcohol and was ticketed for possession of marijuana Feb. 27 at 153rd Street and La Reina Real Street, police said.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Patrick Moran, 30, of the 9900 block of 153rd Street, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of disorderly conduct after a Feb. 27 incident at Dwan Hookah, 9925 W. 143rd St., police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Dominic Archie, 33, of the 12600 block of Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, illegally tinted windows and was ticketed for possession of marijuana after police found a loaded handgun in his car Feb. 28 near 143rd Street and 94th Avenue, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Quave Richardson, 28, of the 18000 block of Baker Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and was ticketed for possession of marijuana Feb. 28 in the parking lot of Orland Square Mall, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Dejuante Childs, 28, of the 16000 block of Haven Avenue, Orland Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving with suspended registration and no seat belts March 11 in the 6800 block of West 159th Street, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Christopher Jones, 24, of the 16200 block of Forest Avenue, Oak Forest, was arrested and accused of domestic battery after a March 13 incident at his home, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Anthony Edwards, 21, of Plainfield, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 3 at Southwest Highway and College Drive, police said.
DUI ARREST: Carlos Valle, 38, of Cicero, was arrested and accused of drunken driving March 4 in the 7000 block of U.S. 83, police said.
DUI ARREST: Vincent Link, 18, of the 9100 block of Mayfield Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of drunken driving March 6 in the 9100 block of Mayfield Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Joseph Hickey, 53, of the 3100 block of Kedvale Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 4 in the 6400 block of West College Drive, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Seantrel Copening, 27, of the 12200 block of Washington, Blue Island, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon March 8 in the 12100 block of Ridgeland Avenue, police said.
NO LICENSE: Jerry Melton, 31, of the 700 block of Burndam Drive, University Park, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license March 9 in the 7300 block of College Drive, police said.
REVOKED LICENSE: Lakyle Bolden, 35, of the 8700 block of 85th Place, Justice, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license March 10 in the 7100 block of West 127th Street, police said.
NO LICENSE: Fadi Alasmer, 30, of the 11800 block of Karlov, Alsip, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license and was processed on an outstanding warrant after a March 11 stop in the 12100 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Starkeshia Hampton, 37, of Joliet, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 7 at U.S. 30 and Cedar Road, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: David Alvarado, 57, of the 8700 block of West 168th Street, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license March 7 at U.S. 30 and Haven Avenue, police said.
REVOKED LICENSE: Prince Terrence IV, 25, of the 1400 block of North Rockrun, Crest Hill, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license March 7 in the 1800 block of U.S. 30, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Corey Glesge, 23, of the 4600 block of West 179th Street, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing merchandise from Tractor Supply Company, 2161 E. Laraway Road, on March 8, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Bianca Chavez, 24, of Joliet, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing merchandise from Walmart, 501 E. U.S. 30, on March 9, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Daniel Miller, 21, of the 19700 block of Mokena Street, Mokena, was arrested and accused of possession of false identification and unlawful use of a weapon after police found him in possession of brass knuckles March 9 at U.S. 30 and Cedar Road, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Chantelle Bass, 27 of Joliet, was arrested and accused of retail theft after stealing $170 worth of merchandise from Walmart, 501 E. U.S. 30, on March 10, police said.
DUI ARREST: Bradley Babjak, 23, of the 17700 block of Crestview Drive, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance Feb. 19 at Southwest Highway and Haas Road in Frankfort Township, police said.
THEFT: Police said someone broke into property surrounding an AT&T cell tower and stole two copper grounding bars in the 8400 block of West St. Francis Road in Frankfort Township Feb. 23.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Xavier Kirk, 31, of the 21500 block of Eich Drive, Crest Hill, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, suspended registration and no insurance Feb. 16 at Western and Exchange in Crete, police said.
BURGLARY: Someone broke into a truck and stole power tools, a volt set and a 6-gallon air compressor in the 2000 block of East Spruce Drive in Crete Feb. 16.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Police said someone used a pellet gun or a small-caliber handgun to shoot out the windows of an excavator at 99th Avenue and West Wilmington-Peotone Road in Peotone Feb. 16. A computer screen inside was also damaged.
STOLEN CAR: Someone stole a 2018 Chevy Equinox from a business parking lot in the 800 block of West Windsor in Crete Feb. 18.
DRUNKEN DRIVING: Kenneth Pawlowski, 73, of the 200 block of Mallards, Beecher, was arrested and accused of aggravated drunken driving and driving while license revoked Feb. 28 in the 1800 block of East Steger Road in Crete, police said.
NO LICENSE: Gerald D. Brown, 33, 18000 block of Baker Avenue, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license and disregarding a stop sign Feb. 21 at 179th Street and Thomas Lane, police said.
WEAPON ARREST: Michael T. Durkins, 20, 18900 block of Loretto Lane, Country Club Hills, was charged by the Cook County state’s attorney’s office with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a loaded .40-caliber handgun with one bullet chambered from the vehicle he was driving during a Feb. 21 domestic incident in that block, police said.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Lanell T. Bell, 45, 16400 block of Claire Lane, South Holland, was arrested and accused of domestic battery and interfering with a domestic-battery report Feb. 22 in that block, police said.
POT ARREST: Jade A.K. Frierson, 20, 3900 block of 167th Place, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of illegally possessing more than 100 grams of cannabis during a Feb. 22 investigation in the 4000 block of 168th Place after officers recovered 135 grams (approximately 4.75 ounces) of suspected marijuana packaged in eight bags, police said.
NO LICENSE: Brandon J. Wright, 31, 3800 block of 168th Place, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license Feb. 24 in that block, police said.
NO LICENSE: Latonia C. McClain, 45, 3400 block of Hazel Lane, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of driving on a license expired more than one year Feb. 25 at 175th Street and Country Club Lane, police said.
REVOKED LICENSE: Michael A. Williams, 58, 3600 block of 176th Street, Country Club Hills, was arrested and accused of driving on a revoked license, driving without insurance and speeding Feb. 25 at 175th Street and Pulaski Road, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Emma Coty, 34, 16900 block of Bulger Avenue, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding March 3 in the 1400 block of Ridge Road, police said.
NARCOTICS: Xavier Ortiz, 24, Hammond, Ind., was arrested and accused of illegally possessing a controlled substance after he was found to have undisclosed illegal drugs during a March 5 stop on Dixie Highway, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Gordon Barrow-Weeden, 28, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding March 6 in the 18200 block of Governors Highway, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Kristina King, 53, 1800 block of 186th Place, Homewood, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration March 6 at 183rd Street and Riegel Road, police said.
DUI: Quentin Lawrence, 34, Chicago, was arrested and accused of drunken driving and driving without insurance during a March 6 crash investigation at Maple Road and Ashland Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Maruf Adeyemo, 38, 900 block of Sunset Drive, Glenwood, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance March 8 in the 3000 block of 183rd Street, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Adara Caldwell, 20, 100 block of 167th Street, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding March 8 in the 18400 block of Harwood Avenue, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Kevin Hunt, 45, Maywood, was arrested and accused of retail theft March 8 at Jewel-Osco, 17705 Crawford Ave., after stealing merchandise selling for $882.48, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Larry McCaskill, 68, 2900 block of 183rd Street, Homewood, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding March 8 at 175th Street and Western Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Cornelius Williams, 39, Calumet City, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance, expired registration and one headlight March 9 at 183rd Street and Park Avenue, police said.
DUI: Candas D. Huey, 20, South Bend, Ind., was arrested and accused of drunken driving, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, disregarding a red light, aggravated speeding (74 mph in a 35 mph zone,) two counts of resisting arrest and illegally transporting alcohol Feb. 26 in the 9100 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Marisol Lugo, 29, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding Feb. 26 at 105th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Jocelyn C. Cobb, 29, undisclosed block of Edgewater Drive, Hazel Crest, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, speeding and suspended registration Feb. 27 at 103rd Street and Central Avenue, police said.
RECKLESS DRIVING: Nathan Correa, undisclosed age, Chicago, Carlos A. Juarez, undisclosed age, Chicago, and Christopher A. Hernandez-Lucas, undisclosed age, Chicago, were arrested and accused of reckless driving and aggravated speeding Feb. 27 in the 9200 block of Ridgeland Avenue after an officer determined they had been driving 82 mph in a 35 mph zone, police said.
WARRANT SERVICE: Darryl L. Cook, 52, Chicago, was taken into custody on an undisclosed Bedford Park arrest warrant during a Feb. 27 retail-theft investigation at Jewel-Osco, 9424 Pulaski Road, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Briana A. Gunn, 23, Gurnee, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and improper turning Feb. 27 at 94th Street and Hilton Drive, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Isiaka Animashaun, 34, Chicago, was arrested and accused of retail theft and obstructing identification Feb. 28 at Mariano’s, 11000 Cicero Ave., after stealing merchandise selling for $106.05, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Naylon N. Clopton, 22, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and disregarding a red light Feb. 28 in the 9600 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Nasr A. Salim, 20, undisclosed block of Oak Park Avenue, Oak Lawn, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license and speeding March 1 in the 4800 block of 95th Street, police said.
NO LICENSE: Thomas L. Cunningham, 26, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and speeding March 2 in the 5600 block of Southwest Highway, police said.
WARRANT SERVICE: Annastesia C. Cury, 30, Chicago, was taken into custody on a Skokie Police arrest warrant for theft of labor or services March 2 in the 9300 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: Andre E. Dow, 44, East Chicago, Ind., was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and speeding March 3 at 107th Street and Cicero Avenue after an officer determined his license was suspended in both Illinois and Indiana, police said.
DUI: Shannon M. Kennedy, 27, undisclosed block of 69th Court, Palos Heights, was arrested and accused of drunken driving, driving on a license expired more than one year and driving in the wrong lane March 3 at 111th Street and Jodan Lane, Alsip, where she was found slumped over the steering wheel, police said.
SUSPENDED LICENSE: James B. Morissey, 39, Chicago, was arrested and accused of driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, driving too fast for conditions and expired registration March 3 in the 8800 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
