Lost duffel bag full of drugs in Lynden leads to man's arrest | 790 KGMI – KGMI

LYNDEN, Wash. – A forgotten duffel bag left in the middle of the road led to a Lynden man’s arrest late last week.

Court documents state that a Lynden Police officer noticed the small red bag in the 1800 block of Front St on July 14th, 2021.
Witnesses said that the bag fell out of a car that had left a nearby business.
As the officer was investigating the bag’s contents, that same car was seen slowly driving by the scene.

The bag contained counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl, two baggies of cocaine, and drug ledgers with the name “Anthony” written on the front.
Fingerprints and handprints recovered from the duffel bag led officers to arrest 25-year-old Anthony Martinez last Thursday.
Martinez has an extensive criminal history, and was initially scheduled to stand trial for two separate incidents in 2019 within the coming weeks.
