FALLSBURG, NY — A Sullivan County woman who worked at Sullivan Correctional Facility was accused of rape and having illegal drugs.
The New York State Police said Kristie Miller, 51, of Fallsburg, was charged Thursday with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sex act, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance — intent to sell and first-degree prison contraband, all felonies.
Authorities said an 11-month investigation by the state police and New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations found that Miller, while employed as a nurse at the Sullivan Correctional Facility, provided buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual films to an inmate.
She was also involved in a sexual relationship with that same inmate, police said.
Miller was fired by the corrections department before she was arrested.
She was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of bail.
Sullivan Correction Facility serves the county as a maximum security level facility for men, according to the corrections department website.
