Three arrested after throwing gun, drugs out of stolen vehicle during pursuit, police say – syracuse.com

Syracuse, N.Y. — Three people – including a 15-year-old boy – were arrested after police say they tossed a gun and drugs from a stolen vehicle during a police chase, police said.
Davon O’Neal, 24, Rasir Baker, 22, and the 15-year-old boy were spotted in a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of 2121 E. Fayette Street around 4:48 p.m. Monday, according to a Syracuse police news release.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle and the 15-year-old driver sped off, hitting a police car, police said.
The 15-year-old drove for several minutes and police followed, police said. During the chase a loaded gun and “numerous amounts of illicit drugs” were tossed from the vehicle, police said. Police did not specify what the drugs were.
When the car was close to 100 Springfield Rd., O’Neal got out of the car and attempted to run away but was caught by police, they said.
The vehicle continued until it was near Boston Street and Northcliffe Road, where Baker and the teen got out and tried to run, police said.
Police caught both Baker and the teen, they said. The teen was found to have a Glock handgun on him police said.
That was the second time in 11 days officers found the teen with a gun, they said.
The teen was arrested on Feb. 17 after police found he had a handgun in a store in the 2200 block of E. Fayette Street, police said.

The teen also faces additional charges from the Feb. 17 gun arrest, police said.
Both O’Neal and Baker have been released from the Onondaga County Justice Center, according to inmate lookup. Police did not say if the 15-year-old has been released.
