Third Peoria directed patrol detail nets seized illegal drugs, firearms – Heart of Illinois ABC

PEORIA (Heart of Illinois ABC) – Seized drugs and firearms were some of the results of the third directed patrol detail from the Peoria Police Department.
Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria says around 28 traffic stops were conducted, bringing several citations and numerous warnings.
10 arrests were also made, illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized, 10 tickets were issued, three vehicles were impounded and three illegal firearms were seized.
Some of the major incidents include:
Echevarria says no ShotSpotter activations or motor vehicle thefts were reported.
“By now you know that our commitment to rid the streets of violent offenders is just that, a commitment,” he said. “Our police officers and other local law enforcement agencies will continue to conduct these patrols and arrest those who are breaking the law.”
“We won’t stop until our citizens can walk the streets of their neighborhoods and feel safe. That’s my goal and that’s my promise to you.”
29 law enforcement officers participated.
