Regarding “Illinois State Police announce large increase in drug seizures last year” (Feb. 24): News reports say many of the drugs entering U.S. cities are coming through Mexico. But they never mention what I regard as bad Biden administration policies on the border as one reason why. When we start controlling the southern border, we will start combating the war on drugs.

It was not long ago that the Republican Party stood in opposition to the incursions of the Soviet Union.
