Raid on illegal bar in Midway results in recovery of large amounts of drugs – Lexington Dispatch

A Lexington man has been charged with running an illegal bar in Midway, where he was also allegedly sold large quantities of drugs. 
On Feb. 19, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a raid on a building at 1838 Disher Road.  
Authorities seized 35 liters of alcoholic beverages, 14 grams of methamphetamine, 55 grams of cocaine, 4 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a stolen firearm. 
Davidson County sheriff’s deputies said that ALE had been investigating the illegal bar for the past six months in response to numerous complaints.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher Bernard Hayes, 44, of Lexington was charged with multiple felonies.
According to the arrest report provided by the Davidson County Magistrates Office, Hayes was previously convicted of felony possession with the intent to sell or deliver cocaine in 2006 and was sentenced to 25-39 months in prison.

Authorities arrested Hayes for multiple felony drug and weapons charges. He was given a $250,000 secured bond and has an initial court date of March 30.
