Loaded Handgun, Drugs Found During Reckless Driving Investigation – KLIN
A Lincoln Police officer was on patrol near 10th Street and Highway 2 around 1 p.m. Thursday when he saw a Chevy Impala driving in a recklessly. The officer followed the vehicle that parked behind a residence near 9th and E Street.
The officer contacted the driver, 21 year old Jordan Meyer and also noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. That resulted in a search of the vehicle.
A backpack was found on the driver’s side floorboard. Inside officers found 40.4 grams of marijuana, 20.7 grams of THC concentrate, four alprazolam pills, and a number of items consistent with the sale of narcotics. Also located was a loaded .40 caliber handgun. Officers also found $285 in cash on Meyer that was packaged consistent with the sale of narcotics.
When officers contacted Meyer, they became suspicious he was under the influence. A DUI investigation determined he was under the influence of narcotics.
Meyer was booked a number of charges that include possession of a firearm during a drug violation, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of money while violating a drug law, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, DUI, careless driving and littering.
