Illegal drugs found in Olympia woman's allegedly stolen car – The Jolt News

The arrest of an Olympia woman over her alleged possession of a stolen vehicle later yielded methamphetamines and blue pills suspected of containing fentanyl.
According to reports by several Olympia police officers, Sasha Marie Beell, 43, was arrested last Tue., Jan. 18, after a routine registration check conducted in a parking lot on Pacific Avenue found that the suspect was in a car listed as stolen out of Ellensburg.
An initial search of the vehicle yielded a medium-sized leather bag full of a white crystalline substance that was later confirmed to be methamphetamine. Police said the drugs weighed 386.87 grams or 0.85 pounds.
After a judge granted police permission to search the vehicle for illegal narcotics, authorities also found 380 blue pills weighing 44.84 grams, a scale, multiple empty Ziplock bags, and a large quantity of cash in denominations of $100, $50, and $20.
Police learned that the vehicle, a silver Toyota Highlander, was owned by a certain Janice Sharar who died in July last year. The car was left in the possession of the executor to her estate.
Beell told police that Sharar was her aunt. The suspect also said she purchased the vehicle through her brother for $10,000.
Weeks after the purchase, Beell said, her brother told her that there had been a mistake and mentioned something about the executor. The suspect said she stopped talking to her brother at this time because he was “acting weird” and never followed up on the car.
The suspect said she didn’t have the executor’s contact information and decided to wait for him to reach out to her.
The executor confirmed to police that a family member took Sharar’s car while he was gathering information about her belongings after her death. The vehicle was listed as stolen around the time that Beell purchased it from her brother.
The car’s glovebox also contained multiple receipts dated Sept. 2021 to Nov. 2021, which police said countered the suspect’s claim that she had not opened the glovebox since July 2021.
A medium-sized bag full of car keys with yellow tags was also found in the vehicle’s trunk.
Beell was booked at the Thurston County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Court records show that the suspect is facing charges filed with the Thurston County Superior Court.
