Bedford man arrested after police find drugs in his bedroom – WBIW.com

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on a warrant after an incident on January 10, 2022.
Police arrested 29-year-old Evan Shoults on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia
According to a probable cause affidavit on January 10th, a Bedford Police officer noticed a vehicle drop off a female at a home in the 1400 block of 13th Street. That woman, Haylee Lagle, was wanted on an active warrant.
When the officer knocked on the back door of the home Crystal Stigall answered the door. While speaking to Stigall the officers smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from the residence.
Stigall refused to let the officer enter the home because of her dog. Stigall went and got the dog and contained it. In the living room area were Tanarra Fargo and Haylee Lagle. The officer entered the home. The women told the officer Lagle had hidden in the bathroom. Lagle surrendered to the officer.
During a protective sweep of the residence, the officer found marijuana in plain view in a bedroom. The officer learned the bedroom was Evan Shoult’s room.
After finding the marijuana, the officer asked permission to search the home and that request was denied. The officer requested a search warrant which was granted by Superior Court I Judge John Plummer III.
During the execution of the search warrant, in the bathroom officers found multiple syringes and a baggie of crystal meth.
Both Stigall and Fargo were detained.
In the living room, the officer found a glass smoking pipe.  In a backpack found in the kitchen, officers found a razor blade, a metal spoon, and cotton balls that all tested positive for heroin.
In Shoult’s bedroom police located multiple syringes, two baggies containing meth, and cut straws.
Stigall was not charged, Fargo was arrested. The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was requested for Shoults arrest.
