SALEM — Salem Police and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force seized a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and made three arrests after raiding an East Fourth Street apartment late Tuesday afternoon.
“There have been complaints about the residence,” Salem Police Chief J.T. Panezott said, acknowledging reports of high traffic in and out of that apartment at 284 E. Fourth St., Apt. 2 E.
The seizure included approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of crack cocaine, 20 grams of marijuana, suspected counterfeit pressed fentanyl pills, a large amount of U.S. currency and paraphernalia.
Three people arrested at the scene of the rental property included Craig Coffman, 34, for drug paraphernalia, Ashley Sekely, 38, for drug paraphernalia, and Cody Wilson, 32, for possession of drug abuse instrument for a needle. Both Coffman and Sekely lived there, with Wilson considered a transient. All three were taken into custody by Salem Police and taken to the Columbiana County jail.
The search warrant was executed at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday based on an investigation by the county DTF, which includes a Salem detective.
Panezott said additional charges are pending lab results for the drugs.
He said this is the third time Coffman and Sekely have been in a home hit by the DTF, with two raids at their previous residence on West Perry Street.
“Great job by everybody involved,” Panezott said.
He reminded residents that anytime they see suspicious activity or have knowledge of possible drug activity, they should call Salem Police at 330-337-7811 or call the DTF at 330-424-0309.
